The NTMA is the National Tooling and Machining Association of the United States of America. Its purpose is to provide scientific and technical advice to members of the precision custom manufacturing industry to support growth and business success through education, information, programmes and services. The Mechanical Aptitude Test (MAT) online test assesses understanding of basic mechanical principles and their application to routine shop floor situations. The tests are frequently used for the selection of aircraft technicians, automotive mechanics, machine operators and others.

They are long, timed tests with a significant cognitive component. Those who do not pass these tests will not be accepted for the positions for which they are applying. Hence the need for preparation through courses and professionals.
For this, we offer an online course with tools to practice them and develop cognitive skills.
What are the NTMA aptitude tests?
Aptitude tests are applied to measure people’s abilities and check whether they have what it takes to fulfil a function or not. They are divided into several sections: mechanical and spatial relationships, mechanical reasoning, applied mathematics and theoretical reasoning. Passing the test is usually achieved when 66% of the answers are correct within the stipulated time. This is recommended by the association, although the percentile is left to the discretion of the client. The questions are closed-ended with multiple choice answers.
