If you want to successfully pass the Ontario firefighter aptitude test there are a few things you should know before taking the test.
First of all, you should know that the fire brigade aptitude test is based on the Cooperative Personnel Services (CPS) examination which is formatted to include a multiple choice section and provides metric units for Canadian test takers.

The Ontario fire department aptitude test, and more specifically, the CPS doesn’t discriminate against genders, individuals or groups of persons. They use neutral pronouns and further rules on their polices will be provided by their hiring team.
Another tip for the firefighter aptitude test in Ontario is that you will not be allowed to leave the room until the exam time has finished. In order to pass the exam you must also get at least a score of 70. Also make sure you prepare yourself well, since you will not be allowed a calculator.

Let’s check the parts of the Ontario firefighter aptitude test (CPS)
The aptitude test was designed to measure the skills and aptitude needed for a modern firefighter job environment. The relevant questions are normally divided into four sections:
-Oral information comprehension: A firefighter could be in situations where commanders will give orders and it will be your job to carry them out accurately and effectively.
– Written information comprehension: On the job you will be in situations when you must read instructions and be able to follow them in order to save lives. Again this is a very important aspect as a firefighter.

-Math skills: Absolutely needed for the job for calculating PSI or any other matter of importance during the job. Try to improve your arithmetic skills for the firefighter aptitude test in Ontario
-Mechanical skills: You need to know how to read maps, diagrams and mechanical drawings so, be aware of this when you plan to take the aptitude test.
